2024 Carthage National Register Inventory Report
Published on September 17, 2024
The National Register district within the Town of Carthage was established in 1993. The Board of Commissioners enlisted the services of a local historic preservation non-profit, The Pines Preservation Guild, to conduct an inventory of the same National Register district to understand what historic properties remain in the district 31 years later. Below you find the full report submitted to the Town of Carthage Historic Preservation Commission at their regular meeting on August 26, 2024.
PLEASE NOTE: This inventory report does not add, remove or otherwise change the status of the National Register District nor does it prescribe any municipal planning and zoning rules, regulations or design standards to properties within the district. A National Register District is considered honorary only and does not offer any protections to historic properties within its boundaries. Any planning and zoning ordinances governing the area in which the National Register District exists can be found in the Carthage Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). Please click here to be taken to the Planning and Zone page where you will find the most up-to-date UDO.
